Media Department :

Firstly: TV. And Radio Program

Mission:

There’s a message for the TV.& Radio program based on four main pivots ,they are:
• Prepare graduates possessing specialized scientific and knowledgeable skills in the TV.& Radio production ,moreover, understanding to ethics , values and profession conducts.
• Prepare graduates having specialized scientific and vocational base via their understanding to ethics , values of vocational practice ,its criteria , its application methods in real practical life in what assures the department’s graduates quality and their distinctiveness.
• The department is keen to inform the students with skills and scientific research origins as well ,in what helps them to conduct practical researches to refine their skills .
• Encourage students and push them for development and advancement through practical programs production ,conduct scientific researches which enrich the practical aspect that qualifies them to enter the labor market.

Vision:

TV. And Radio program at the Media department seeks to prepare and qualify distinctive graduates academically and vocationally ,qualify them to compete in the labor market through acquiring them the most modern knowledge , treatment skills with modern technologies in the TV. And Radio production field and its devices.

1- Train students at using the latest technologies in the TV.& Radio production.
2- Acquire student preparation TV.& Radio programs production skills.
3- Aware students with vocational conduct standards and journalism profession ethics.
4- Prepare students to deal with the TV.& Radio production climate and required skills in the production stages.
5- Make the students understand the methods and rules of scientific research in the media field.

Journalism Program :

Mission:

The journalistic program is keen to disseminate prestigious learning and intellectual atmospheres ,providing research and artistic potentials , seeking for unique media personality building ,ethically ,scientifically culturally and qualitatively , providing the students’ program with sound media profession’s articles ,developing their skills in the communications ,creative thinking in what it qualifies them to enter confidently to the labor market.

Vision:

Journalism program seeks to reach the programs’ level regarding journalism in the distinguished universities at both local and Arab aspects , and provide the domestic market with qualified journalists equipped with knowledge , expertise and journalistic skills and that the journalistic program at the Open Learning College will become a distinctive academic and vocational school regionally.

Goals:

1- Develop high quality programs for providing media institutions locally and regionally with media cadres enjoying high skills ,distinguished qualification to meet huge requirements and challenges that are witnessed in the media domain.
2- Serve the local community in the scientific research , submit consultancies ,expertise and link the program’s priorities with labor market’s needs of media professional cadres equipped with knowledge , education and scientific experience.
3- Apply international standards in teaching media and journalism vocabularies ,polarize outstanding students and distinctive faculty members.
4- Provide students with the most dominant modern trends and theories in media and journalism.

Thirdly : Public Relations and Advertising

Mission:

The public relations an d advertising program seeks distinction in introducing educational ,searching and consultative service meeting the community needs and the labor market requirements through the preparation and qualification of specialized cadres method ,enabling both male and female students in acquiring skills and arts of professional practice to the methods of media working fields to employ it in the media work service ,developing it , activation of media research and make it possible for the community service and its different sectors for supporting and developing the educational process and its modernization and upgrading it to make compatible with the international educational developments in the various media fields and branches.

Vision:

The relations and advertising program at the Open Learning College at the Future University looks forward to accomplish a distinctive and leading stature for serving the Yemeni and Arab citizen ,whereas it becomes an intellectual center to polarize interested students in getting high quality of theoretical and practical education in the scientific specialization in what meets the community needs with its various media institutions.

Goals:

1- Graduate a distinctive student equipped with scientific knowledge and practical experience meets the labor market needs in all public relations branches and scientific research centers.
2- Acquire the section’s graduates basic skills in the art of practicing the public relations and advertising program and its wide domains ,enabling them of their application in all media institutional work fields in the republic of Yemen and the Arab society, confirming continuous contribution in the economic and development community process and the local community development.
3- Link the program as an academic and research institution to the Yemeni society in general and Sana’a community in particular through active contribution in various activities and programs that serve the society.
4- Train students on media work and insure the belonging spirit and the national contribution.
5- Rehabilitate media cadres for the media work development via higher studies program to extend the community with qualitative expertise to be compatible changes that the community passes through within the extension of globalization.
6- Submit the scientific consultancies in the media field and scientific research for media sciences ,conducting scientific researches and future studies that contribute in the community development and planning , community crisis management taking place and expected from place to another.
7- Prepare the program graduates and qualify them to community participation in the community leadership , develop and practice local governance ,interaction with Yemeni society crisis and matters in particular and international , Muslim and Arab society’s problems and crisis as media has to play a role of a lawyer against the various community crisis and problems.
